First Interactive Learning and Play Apps from Fingerprint Coming on December 1st, 2011

On the heels of introducing Fingerprint and our plans for the industry’s first mobile learning and play network for kids and their grown-ups, today we’re excited to share that our first apps–the Big Kid Life series, Fingerprint Play Maker and DoReMi 1-2-3 – all of which are equipped with a one-of-a-kind Mom-Comm feature, are set to appear in the Apple App store, worldwide, on December 1st, 2011.

We’ve been working hard on a series of Big Kid Life apps, which introduce themed activities tied to the learning adventure. In Big Kid Life: Firefighter, Big Kid Life: Veterinarian and Big Kid Life: Fairy Princess, kids make their way through new adventures while practicing education skills. DoReMi 1-2-3 is a revolutionary ear pitch and melody training app for children, from renowned music experts, Creativity Inc.

A fifth app, Fingerprint Play Maker, teaches progressive math and spelling skills with the help of a unique Fingerprint character players design themselves. To celebrate the launch, we’re kicking off a promotion, details of which are coming soon. You’ll definitely want to be one of the first to know as it will be a limited time offer and the price will be right (hint, hint). Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get the latest news and developments about our apps and to be the first to know about the exciting promotion.

Get Big!

I’ve had a lot of questions about Big Kid Life  and thought I’d talk a little bit about what we’re up to.  Big Kid Life came from the simple idea that little kids  want to be big.  I want to be a Teacher. I want to be a Cowboy. I want to be an Astronaut. I want to be a Rockstar.  Nearly every parent can relate to those earliest conversations with little kids. In fact, the foundation for the toy business is role play toys – Trucks and Tractors, Washing Machines and Doll Strollers – kids just like to pretend.

We liked the idea that to be a Big Kid a child needed to learn new skills in a relatable and fun way. That’s why we designed our games to introduce themed activities tied to the learning adventure. In Big Kid Life Vet, the child has to soothe a sick pet, use the X-Ray machine, and find out what’s inside to cure the animal. Imagine finding a sock in a walrus’ ear!  As Big Kid Life FireFighter, kids save all kinds of animals while squirting  not-so-scary fire monsters with a big hose. And of course, progressing up the ladder by answering challenging questions just right for a 4 to 7 year old.  We’ll launch the first 3 Big Kid Life Adventures in October …. including one not so serious (depending on your perspective) Big Kid Life Fairy Princess, which is a magical way to inspire reading.

Imagine a world of Big Kids from Wizard to Artist, Pilot to Dancer, Engineer to Fashion Designer.  Send us your ideas for our next Big Kid adventure and if we use it, we’ll credit you in the game!

Get Big!

Psst… the word about Fingerprint is out… pass it on!

We have come out of stealth mode and started sharing what we are creating. And now several news outlets have noticed and are talking. Here is the latest buzz on the first The First Mobile Learning & Play Network!

Big Kid Marketer

Tech Crunch - “Fingerprint will be launching applications that include features that enable social sharing and communication between kids and adults…”.

Kid Screen - “In the coming months, the team will launch four flagship proprietary applications and will continue to work with a range of third-party app developers to introduce additional new titles by the end of the year.”

Wall Street Journal Online - “…Fingerprint Digital Inc. has attracted top executives and now cash, the latest in a string of kids’ mobile entertainment and learning companies to inspire investor enthusiasm.”

Wired.com - “We are talking about people who know this space well and have strong existing contacts and know the space well”

PaidContent.org - “Fingerprint will also release a software-development kit that lets other developers put the technology inside of their own applications.”

Gamasutra- “Fingerprint seeks to provide fun, educational mobile games that can be shared between 4-to-7-year-olds and their parents…”

Pocketgamer -”Fingerprint has four games in development for iOS and plans to release an SDK and platform for thirdparty developers, as well as allowing them to integrate into its app recommendation engine.”

Mobile Entertainment ”Fingerprint is as much a games platform as it is a publisher, so they’ll be able to put its connected features into their own games”

Got Fingerprints?

Today’s the day that Fingerprint comes out of stealth mode. I’ve been anticipating this blog post for weeks.

What to write? How to start?

Should I take the introduction approach?

“Today I’m pleased to announce that executives from LeapFrog, PlayFirst, and 2K Games have partnered with K2MediaLabs, THQ, and Reed Elsevier to launch the first mobile learning and play network for kids and their grown-ups”.

Should I take the engagement approach?

“Today we’re launching Fingerprint, the first mobile learning and play network for kids and their grown-ups. We’re going to be creating apps for kids 3 to 8 and would love to know what kind of games your children like”.

Should I take the business opportunity approach?

“Recognizing that there will be 1 billion Android and iOS devices by 2013, Fingerprint recognized a significant business opportunity to create a network for children’s learning and play content.”

Should I take the inspirational approach?

“Education is the foundation for global growth. Fingerprint strives to inspire a love of learning in children.”

Should I take the consumer approach?

“Fingerprint launches the first mobile network for the tech savvy mom and her children. As the first social, mobile learning solution for kids, Fingerprint allows parents to share the learning.”

Should I take the woman entrepreneur approach?

“As a working mom myself, I founded Fingerprint to deliver a unique learning and play app experience to busy parents”

Should I take the thankful approach?

“Fingerprint would like to thank K2MediaLabs, THQ, Reed Elsevier, and Suffolk Holidings for their vision in supporting our business. We have the best investors in the world!”

Should I take the team approach?

“Fingerprint has put together an amazing team of Kids and Gaming specialists from industry leaders like Electronic Arts, LucasFilm, and LeapFrog. ”

Should I take the company name approach?

“The name Fingerprint comes from the little smudges kids make on iPads and iPhones. These Fingerprints are unique, just like children.”

I’m taking the vision approach.

“We transform App play for kids to a social learning experience shared by Kids and Parents.”

We’re going live in October.

Start looking for the Fingerprints!
